Why I Reacted To Derogatory Comment About Former Nigerian Military Leaders – IBB

Former military head of state, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) has given reason for reacting to alleged insolent documentary against the country’s former military leaders.
IBB told journalists in Minna at the weekend after his accreditation at his hill top polling unit before he voted that he reacted because the situation was getting too much and that he had the right to react the way he did.
He said “the fact this is a democratic country, we have the right to air our views, to say it any time. That informed my reaction. If it is two much then that is why you react.”
On the outcome of the election he stated “it is my hope that the election will be credible, transparent, honest and acceptable to all of you Nigerians.”

”For the election so far so good. Nigerians should remain calm, desist from anything that will lead to violence,” he counselled.

It would be recalled that IBB in a press statement last week took a swipe on those who he said demonized former military leaders of the country, maintaining the former leaders fought for the unity of Nigeria which the people demonizing them now prey on.
