An octogenarian,
Pa Amodu Alimi received a Bachelor's degree in sociology at the 17th
convocation ceremony of the Lagos State University, on Wednesday 13th of June
2012.
Pa Alimi who
gained admission, into the university in 2007, and underwent a full time course
was among 22,033 others who graduated among whom were 41 who made first class.
The event, which
took place at the main campus of the institution in Ojo produced 13 first class
graduates from the faculty of science, while faculties of engineering and
communications produced 10 and 7 respectively.
Members of staff,
which included the School librarian, Dr Adetoun Idowu, Acting Bursar, Mr Jamiu
Lasisi, Deputy Vice Chancellor Admin, Professor Omolara Bamgboye, and Vice
Chancellor, Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa, were on hand to show the graduands
some support and encouragement.
