Barely one month after the anti-gay law was passed by the National Assembly, a 25 year old man, Kabiru Ali has alleged that one Abubakar Abdullahi, who is a close family friend lured him to his Badarawa residence in the Kaduna metropolis, where he drugged and raped him while he was unconscious.
Narrating how he was raped to journalists in Kaduna, Mr Ali said the man popularly called Alhaji Abu asked him to come over to his house and collect brocade last Friday.
He said when he got to the house in the night, the alleged rapist served him tea suspected to have been poisoned which he took and lost consciousness.
Mr Ali told journalists that after discovering that he has been raped, he tried to raise alarm , but was resisted by Alhaji Abu who brought out a knife and threatened to kill him if tells anyone.
But the angry raped victim said he struggled with the rapist and dispossessed him of the knife and stabbed him several times in order to escape from the room.
However, when Channels Television visited the alleged rapist, Mr Abdullahi at Garkuwa hospital where he was receiving treatment, he denied raping Mr Ali, but agreed that they were in the same bed when Mr Ali woke up at about 2am on that fateful night and started stabbing him for no reason.
He said he has asked the doctor to examine Mr Ali to confirm if there was any evidence of penetration in his anus as he alleged and to also make the result public.
The mother of the alleged rape victim, Fatima Ali, who was still in shock over the assault on her son, is demanding that Mr Abdullahi should be prosecuted by the police.
When contacted, the Kaduna Police Command Public Relations Officer, Aminu Lawan in a telephone interview, said that the matter is being investigated by the police due to the conflicting statements made by both men
