    COVID-19 Cases in Nigeria Exceed 9,000 as NCDC Reports 387 New Infections

    Nigeria's total confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday increased to 9302 as 387 new infections were announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

    Two deaths were recorded from the virus on Friday raising the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus to 261

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control also said that 105 patients have recovered from the virus infection and discharged, bringing the total discharged persons to 2,679

    Lagos recorded the highest figure of virus infections reported today with 254. The state also remains the epicentre for the disease.

    Followed by the FCT with 29 cases, while Jigawa reported 24 cases, Edo confirmed 22 cases, Oyo had 15 cases, Rivers reported 14 cases and Kaduna confirmed 11 cases.

    Other states and their figures were as follows: Borno with six cases, Kano with three case while Plateau, Yobe, Gombe and Bauchi confirmed two cases each and Ondo with one case.

    Since the beginning of the outbreak in Nigeria in February, 58,726 samples have been tested by NCDC, out of which 9,302 were positive.

    On the 29th of May 2020, 387 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 9302 cases have been confirmed, 2697 cases have been discharged and 261 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
