The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday, May 12 reported 146 new cases of coronavirus in country. The tally of confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose to 4,787

The number of infections in the country has been increasing at a rapid rate for days, but on May 12, Nigeria recorded a drop in daily Coronavirus infections.
The NCDC via its official Twitter account revealed that the new cases are as follows:

No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
Till date, 4787 cases have been confirmed, 959 cases have been discharged and 158 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
There are fears that the numbers may continue to rise astronomically given the population of the country and the low testing capacity of the NCDC.
Meanwhile, as part of measures to help combat the dreaded disease, the Catholic Church in Nigeria through the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has offered its 425 hospitals and clinics nationwide for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.
This was disclosed by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, during the daily Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 media briefing on Monday, May 11.
