The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday Recorded 245 new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, bringing the total number of infections to 2,802
The agency on its confirmed twitter handle said that the 245 new cases were recorded from 15 states, including the Federal Capital Territory
On its Twitter page on Monday night, NCDC said 76 of the new infections were recorded in Lagos, 37 in Katsina, 32 in Jigawa and 23 in Kano.
The Federal Capital Territory also recorded 19 cases of the coronavirus while 18 cases were recorded Borno, 10 in Edo, 9 in Bauchi, 6 in Adamawa.
Oyo and Ogun state recorded five cases each, while one case each is reported in Ekiti, Osun, Benue, Niger and Zamfara state.
The number of discharged persons increased from 400 to 417, while the fatalities recorded rose from 87 to 93.
On the 4th of May 2020, 245 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria. No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi disclosed this on Monday on his twitter handle.
He said this brought to 30, the total number of people who have been killed by the virus in Lagos.
As at Monday night, 76 new #COVID19 Infections were confirmed in Lagos. Bringing the total number of confirmed #COVID19 cases in Lagos to 1,183.
Abayomi appealed to Lagosians to make use of face masks and take all precautionary measures at home and at work to break the chain of #COVID19 transmission.
