The total confirmed COVID-19 infection cases in Nigeria reached 37,801 on Tuesday night as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC announced 576 new cases of coronavirus.
NCDC further revealed that a total of 805 people have died from the virus, with 15,677 patients successfully treated and recovered, following the discharge of 334 patients on Tuesday night.
According to the statistics released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC, the new cases were reported in 21 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Lagos had the highest cases of 88, followed by Kwara with 87, FCT with 82 and Plateau with 62 cases. While Ondo had 39 cases, Enugu reported 28 cases, Oyo had 26 cases, Taraba had 24 cases.
Kaduna and Ebonyi confirmed 20 cases each, Edo had 17 cases, Cross River had 16 cases, Kano reported 14 cases and Rivers confirmed 11 cases.
Ten cases of the virus were found in Ogun state, Delta reported nine cases, Nasarawa and Osun confirmed eight cases each, Katsina had three cases, Imo had two cases, Kebbi and Borno confirmed one case each.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 218,223 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.
