    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 97 New Cases, 5 Additional Deaths

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its COVID-19 infections update on Thursday , said that 97 new cases has been confirmed in the country, with 5 additional deaths related to the disease.

    While the number of successfully treated and recovered COVID-19 patients increased by 1,156.

    The newly recorded infections raised the country’s tally of confirmed cases to 162,275, while the death toll from the virus stands at 2,036.

    And the number of recovered COVID-19 patients is now 149,882 in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as the worst pandemic cumulative positivity rate follows a downward trajectory at present.

    The health agency stated that the recovery include 1,015 community recoveries in FCT and 10 community recoveries in Akwa Ibom State managed in line with guidelines. And Data from FCT recorded over the last two days

    Data obtained from NCDC official Twitter handle shows that the new cases were reported in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos recorded 50 infections out of the new cases reported on Thursday, Kaduna had 12, FCT had 10 and Bayelsa reported 8 cases.

    Imo and Kwara reported 3 cases each, Bauchi and Osun confirmed 2 cases each. While Akwa Ibom, Edo, Kano, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau and Zamfara reported 1 case each.
