Active cases of COVID-19 continue to increase in Nigeria, as 124 were reported on Monday.

Nigeria health officials confirmed 161 new cases of COVID-19 in 4 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The breakdown of the new cases shows that, Lagos, FTC, Gombe, Oyo and Rivers reported 153, 4, 2, 1 and 1 respectively.

Today’s report includes 74 cases from Lagos State reported on the 11th of July, 2021. And 4 states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Kaduna, Nasarawa, and Ogun

No additional death were reported in the country over the last 24 hours. Nigeria’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 2,124.

The health officials also reported that 37 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals across the country, raising the number of recoveries and discharges to 164,476.

Over the past one week, 31,023 COVID-19 tests were conducted. Cumulatively, a total of 2,362,757 samples have been tested in the Nigeria since the beginning of the pandemic.

Active COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 2,113.

With the new update, the tally of COVID-19 infections in Nigeria reached 168,713, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC during its daily COVID-19 update via it official website.
