    Nigeria Logs 393 New Cases, 6 COVID-19 Deaths

    Nigeria logged 393 new COVID-19 cases in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC's COVID-19 bulletin.

    The report also shows that six deaths due to the disease were reported in the last 24 hours and 338 COVID-19 patients got recovered in the same duration.

    Active cases of COVID-19 as of today stands at 8,629, an increase of 49 in past 24 hours.

    With the new additions, the country's cumulative COVID-19 caseload now stands at 202,191, out of which 190,901 patients recovered from the illness and 2,661 died as a result of the disease since start of the pandemic.

    As many as 54,482 COVID-19 tests were conducted in a week, taking the total number of tests conducted so far in Nigeria to 2,997,060, NCDC data showed.

    The five states which registered the most number of new cases on Monday are FCT, Lagos, Edo, Delta and Rivers with 121, 86, 70, 30 and 24 respectively.

    Sixteen of the cases were recorded in Plateau, eleven in Benue, ten in Cross River and eight in Abia.

    Bayelsa and Gombe recorded four cases each, Bauchi and Kano had three cases each, Adamawa reported two and Taraba reported one case.

    And zero cases from Nasarawa, Ondo, Osun and Sokoto States.

    NCDC noted that today's report includes backlog of 1 confirmed case from Taraba on 18th September 2021.
