The new figure

Health officials stated
that the new infections raised the nation’s tally of COVID-19 cases to 217,481 since the first case
relating to the disease was announced on February 27, 2020, according to a
report by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC
No fewer than 207,746
people have recovered so far from the disease caused by coronavirus and
discharged, with additional 48 new patients that were discharged on Sunday.
Which includes 18 discharged
cases reported in Enugu state on 10th December 2021. And 2 discharged cases
reported in Lagos state on 10th December 2021.
Nigeria has so far recorded
6,754 active COVID-19 cases.
Nigeria did not record
a single COVID-19 death for third consecutive day. As a result, the nation’s
death toll from the pandemic still stands at 2,981.
Data obtained from
NCDC’s official website shows that, within a 24 hour period, Lagos, a major
financial centre for all of Africa and the economic hub of Nigeria saw 314 new
coronavirus cases, while Ogun, Plateau and Edo reported 27, 18 and 17 cases
respectively.
Others includes Enugu-11,
Abia-8, Delta-7, Bayelsa-5, Kano-4, Rivers-4, Osun-2 and Oyo-1.
While Ekiti, Ondo and
Sokoto reported zero cases of the virus on Sunday.
However, NCDC noted that
the report includes 18 confirmed cases reported in Plateau state are for 6th
December 2021.
Eleven confirmed cases
reported in Enugu state are for 10th December 2021
Seven confirmed cases
reported in Delta state are for 11th (4) & 12th (3) December 2021.
