    Nigeria Reports 55 New COVID-19 Infections

    As of December 05, 2021, Nigeria have registered a total of 214,622 confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) since the beginning of the pandemic. No coronavirus-related death and 55 new infections were reported on Sunday

    In its daily report on the epidemic situation in Nigeria, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control NCDC said the overall number of deaths recorded since the outbreak of the virus in Feb 27, 2020 amounted to 2,980.

    The number of discharges increase by 23 on Sunday, taking the overall number recoveries to 207,450 on the same date, added the same source.

    There were 4,192 active cases across the country, an increase of 32 from 4,160 its was the previous day.

    According to Sunday's update, the new cases were recorded in 6 states.

    Thirty-seven of the cases were recorded in Lagos, six in Edo, five in Osun, four in Oyo, two in Ogun and one in Ekiti.

    The report includes 0 cases from Kaduna, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto states, NCDC said.
