Kebbi state branch chairman of ASUU, comrade Doctor Ibrahim Yale, Kebbi state university of science and technology (KSUSTA), has said that, his branch is still on strike because all Nigerian universities have almost peculiar demands, adding that, the issues are same regardless of state or federal universities.
Explaining further, he said if such demands are met both
state and federal universities will benefits from them, they include getting
the central government to review 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement, two, ASUU is a union
for all public universities like NLC, CVC and NANS.
According to him, education revalidation funds are for all
universities not the federal varsities alone, as well to check mate
proliferations of state universities governors cannot fund, our local demands
are yearly increments, backlog of earned academic allowance, minimum wage
adjustments, implementations of promotions from 2020 to 2021, domestications of
review laws and regulations of conditions of service and mini overhead of 5m
among other local demands.
For the above reasons, the chairman said, is the reason they
are still on the indefinite strike “KSUSTA unlike other state universities are
still on strike and are solidly behind the National body of ASSU.
Adding that, academic activities remains grounded in Kebbi
state university of sceince and technology Alieru till further notice.
