Having met the requirements of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and gone through the all certification processes, Awesome Microfinance Bank has been licenced by the CBN to provide financial services.

The bank which got its license on on 9th of December, 2022 has restated commitment to provide financial services to individuals, small and medium scale enterprises.

The development is coming at a time when the current economic downturn has made more small and medium scale enterprises seek financial institutions to help provide lending services to support their businesses in a bid to cushion effect on the economic downtown.

Awesome Microfinance Bank promises to bridge the lending gap by providing easy access to loans at low interest rates.

The bank also promises to change the narrative in the sector by giving impoverished people an opportunity to become self-sufficient.

Yemi Awe, the managing director, Awesome Microfinance Bank says the bank commenced operations on 1st of March 2023 to provide targeted financial services to individuals, small and medium scale enterprises.

Awe said the mission of the bank is to deepen financial inclusion among rural dwellers, create employment opportunities, contribute to the economic growth of the nation and provide seamless access to banking services such as savings, loans and investments.

With a vision to be the preferred provider of targeted financial services in Nigeria, he said the bank will achieve this through strong customer relationships.

Yemi Awe, current managing director of Awesome Microfinance Bank is the founder and former managing director of Awesome Credit Limited, a registered lending company with focus on bridging liquidity gaps among individuals, small and medium scale enterprises and corporate bodies in Nigeria.

He has a string background in banking, having started his career in Wema bank PLC in 2009 and later moved to United Bank of Africa (UBA) in 2013 as an Assistant Banking Officer (ABO)where he was responsible for managing retail products.

Yemi’s excellent performance in UBA led to him being nominated to relief three bank managers between 2014 and 2017.
