The National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, NCAOOSCE, has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Almajiri
and Out-of-School Children’s Education, Dr Muhammad Idris, disclosed this in a
statement to mark 2024 Children’s Day, with the theme “For Every Child, Every
Right.”
Dr Idris said the theme of the day’s celebration resonates
with the mission of the commission to ensure that all Almajiri and
out-of-school children have access to quality education and a chance to thrive.
He noted that every child deserves the right to education,
healthcare, protection, and a safe and nurturing environment to grow and
develop.
He said: “I reaffirm our commitment to addressing these
issues and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or
circumstances, has the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
While calling on stakeholders to join the agency in the
mission to ensure that every child has access to quality education, he noted
that the government agency has been given the mandate and is equipped to
provide quality education for Almajiri and out-of-school children and integrate
Western education into the curriculum of Almajiri schools.
“Every child deserves the right to education, healthcare,
protection, and a safe and nurturing environment to grow and develop in line
with the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
administration,” he said.
