A recent study has identified the top 10 African universities with the best teaching skills. Nigeria is proud to be leading this prestigious list.
Nigeria, leading the pack with four universities, is at the
forefront of Africa's top 10 tertiary institutions with exceptional teaching

Education is widely recognized as a crucial tool in
reshaping Africa's socioeconomic progress. The quality of teaching in African
tertiary institutions has often been criticized in comparison to those in
Europe or the United States.
Given Africa's large youth population, strong teaching
skills are vital in universities across the continent to nurture and empower
the younger generation. Experts argue that effective teaching is key to
addressing the skills gap affecting the labor market in many African nations.
They emphasize the need for a practical education system at
the tertiary level to bridge this gap. The Times Higher Education report
highlights that several African countries, represented by their top
universities, excel in teaching skills at the tertiary level.
It is believed that enhancing teaching quality in
universities can help tackle challenges related to poverty alleviation,
economic growth, and sustainable development in many African countries.
