Nigerian artist Dammy Krane has revealed the establishment of a new foundation aimed at prison reform, following his recent release from incarceration.
This development comes in the wake of a notable legal
dispute with fellow artist Davido.
Dammy Krane had previously made controversial remarks
regarding Davido, suggesting that the singer's forthcoming wedding was a facade
for infidelity.
These allegations resulted in legal complications for Dammy,
as Davido's legal representatives sought a retraction and demanded an end to
any further defamatory remarks.
Noncompliance could have led to significant legal
consequences.
The situation intensified when Dammy was arrested last week
due to his provocative comments. In an unexpected turn, Davido opted to
withdraw all charges, which enabled Dammy's release.
In his first public address since being freed, Dammy Krane
expressed his gratitude and offered an apology for his previous statements,
recognizing the gravity of his words.
He also announced the creation of a prison reform foundation
focused on aiding individuals who have been unjustly imprisoned.
Dammy Krane expressed his dedication to the cause through a
post on Twitter, which is now referred to as X.
“I’m STARTING A
PRISON REFORM FOUNDATION FOR THE ILLEGALLY DETAINED. FreedomIsPriceless.”
