The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed German national Bruno Labbadia as the 37th Head Coach of the national senior football team, the Super Eagles.

The NFF made the announcement in the early hours of Tuesday on its official social media platform.

The announcement read: “The Nigeria Football Federation is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with German tactician Bruno Labbadia to become the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Senior Men National Team, Super Eagles.”

The NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles, as announced by NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, in the early hours of Tuesday.

‘The appointment is with immediate effect.’

In accordance with the recent appointment, Labbadia will assume the role of leading the Super Eagles in the upcoming matches for the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Nigerian team will engage in a home game against Benin Republic on September 7th at the Nest of Champions, Uyo, followed by a subsequent match in Rwanda three days later.

The Super Eagles camp is anticipated to commence operations on September 1st in Uyo.
