The compilation of summer songs by Obama features artists Tems and Rema among others.

As the summer season draws to a close, former President of the United States, Barack Obama, has unveiled a selection of 44 songs that he enjoyed during this time.

Among the tracks shared on his X account, two notable contributions from Nigerian artists are featured: Tems and Rema. Obama highlighted "Love Me Jeje" by Tems and "Yayo" by Rema.

"Love Me Jeje," a composition by Nigerian singer Tems, was released on April 25, 2024, through RCA Records, and serves as the second single from her debut studio album, Born in the Wild (2024). The track, produced by GuiltyBeatz and Spax, draws inspiration from Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 hit "Love Me Jeje."

Rema's "Yayo," released in 2024, is the fourth track from his highly anticipated studio album titled ‘HEIS.’ This captivating song showcases Rema's artistry and is part of an album that features a total of 11 engaging Afrobeat and Pop tracks, all characterized by exceptional production, mixing, and mastering.

In light of the approaching end of summer, Obama expressed, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!”
