Renowned American actor and musician Tyrese Gibson has disclosed his preference for imitation bracelets and wristwatches, despite his considerable wealth.
In a recent interview with Breakfast Club Power 105.1FM, Mr.
Gibson revealed that he exclusively wears counterfeit jewelry.
When questioned by co-host Charlamagne regarding the
authenticity of his earrings, Mr. Gibson responded with a succinct “No.”
The "Fast and Furious" star disclosed that he had
previously squandered a substantial amount of money on luxury items, only to
subsequently lose or have them stolen.
The 45-year-old actor further emphasized that misplacing
expensive items caused him unnecessary stress. He shared a personal anecdote
about losing earrings valued at $250,000, highlighting the significant
financial and emotional consequences of his carelessness.
“If it all ends for me tomorrow, I never sold you on fake.
None of this jewellery on me is real. Do not love me because of no diamonds.
This bracelet looks real but it is $23 on Amazon. Nothing. Hear me out. It does
not look fake right? The reality is reality. This sh*t is cunning. It is all
fake. It is all superficial. It is nothing,” he said.
“You know why it is not real? Because I have lost so much of
this shit. I done spent half a million dollars on a fucking watch. Call Jacob
The Jeweler, ni**a. Call all of them. All the most famous, popular jewelers
online, they all got my black Centurion (American Express card). That thing
goes through. I am good.
“I do not lose no sleep over trying to win the popularity
contest showing up with all this jewelry that I am going to leave on the
nightstand and have a housekeeper that says, ‘I don’t know!’ (laughs). I am
sure you do not know where $250,000 earrings is at! I am sure you do not know.
That motherf*cker would retire two weeks later.
“I have never tried to win a popularity contest. And if I
did, I have the contact of every celebrity, director, actor, rapper, you name
it, they are all on my phone. I could be as hot as I wanna be.”
