Nigerian music director and cinematographer ThankGod Omori Smith, widely recognized as TG Omori or Boy Director, has disclosed that he previously underwent a failed kidney transplant.

In a recent update, he shared that his only brother has generously donated a kidney to him.

This announcement was made on Wednesday as he discussed his ongoing health struggles.

The kidney transplant occurred on Monday, August 26, 2024. He urged his fans to keep him in their prayers as he continues to confront his kidney issues, which he revealed began last year.

Omori wrote, “One year after my kidney crashed I just had a failed transplant at St Nicolas Lagos. Pray for me.”

The music director posted images of himself in a hospital bed while receiving oxygen therapy.

In the captions accompanying the images, he expressed: “keep my spirit alive. I don’t wanna die.”

The music director had been out of the public eye for a considerable period, leading to significant concern among his fans.

In April, TG Omori made the announcement that he has chosen to quit smoking. He shared his commitment on his social media platform, stating, “Quit smoking today.”

Joining other Nigerian celebrities who have vowed to stop smoking, such as Kizz Daniel, Tonto Dikeh, and Charly Boy, Omori is determined to adhere to his decision.

Last month, the acclaimed music director posted on his X account, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me.

Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat. You wanna eat, I wanna live.”

Additionally, TG Omori disclosed last year that he spent a significant amount of time in the hospital due to counterfeit beverages.

He tweeted, “It’s all fun n jokes but fake drinks left me hospitalized for the most part of this year.”

Numerous celebrities, including Timaya and BNXN, have also criticized Lagos clubs for selling counterfeit drinks.
