The Scottish whisky brand, The Macallan, collaborated with Premia Business Network to organize GrowthCon 2.0, the premier conference in Africa focused on growth and innovation. This two-day event took place at the Harbor Point Event Center in Victoria Island, Lagos, on July 26th and 27th, attracting over 500 of the continent's most influential entrepreneurs, operators, investors, and business leaders.
Under the theme ‘Art of Growth: Increasing Innovation
Competency,’ the conference provided an engaging experience that equipped
participants with actionable strategies and solutions to foster growth within
their respective businesses. Notable speakers included Damilola Teidi, Head of
Platforms and Network at Ventures Platform Funds; Henry Obiekea, Managing
Director of Fair Money; Funsho Akinwumi, Deputy CEO of Renmoney; Abimbola
Adebakin, CEO of Advantage Health Africa; and health influencer Chinonso Egemba
(Aproko Doctor), among others from diverse sectors.
During the event, Daniel Atteh, The Macallan Brand
Ambassador and Educator in Lagos, articulated how The Macallan’s dedication to
craftsmanship can motivate businesses to pursue sustainable growth. “One
remarkable aspect of whisky production is the extensive time and patience it
requires. Similarly, in business, patience and commitment are essential for
nurturing anything of value,” Atteh stated. “The Macallan’s unwavering focus on
the intricate process of whisky maturation has established it as the most esteemed
whisky globally, exemplifying the significance of consistent and deliberate
craftsmanship over immediate rewards.”
GrowthCon 2.0, facilitated by Premia Business Network,
showcased over 30 growth experts who shared their insights on reimagining
growth and innovation within the rapidly changing business environment of the
continent.
