General Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), a former Minister of Defence, has generously contributed $500,000 to enhance the infrastructure of the University of Medical Sciences Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy.
This financial support is aimed at facilitating the initiation of undergraduate studies in Pharmacy, specifically the Doctor of Pharmacy program.
During a recent Board meeting, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, the Chairman of the Olu Akinkugbe Pharmacy Education Trust (OAPET), made this announcement. The Trust is collaborating with both the State Government and the University to advance the development of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Professor Adesegun Fatusi, the Vice-Chancellor of the University and a member of the OAPET Board, expressed that this donation will assist the institution in achieving its goal of completing and inaugurating the Olu Akinkugbe Faculty of Pharmacy building within this year.
He reaffirmed the University management's unwavering commitment to launching the Doctor of Pharmacy program in the upcoming academic session, which is set to commence in October 2024.
