The Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology is poised to engage in a collaborative effort with the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. This partnership aims to explore various opportunities, including student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, and staff development activities.
During a recent visit to LASUSTECH, the former Head of the
Department of Mass Communication at UNILAG, Professor Adepoju Tejumaye,
conducted an inspection of the LASUSTECH FM radio station and other
departmental facilities.
Professor Tejumaye was received by Dr. Steven Adesemoye, the
Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication at LASUSTECH, along with
other senior faculty members. He praised the institution for its dedication to
practical training and student development, highlighting the significance of
student participation in radio broadcasting.
He remarked, “I urge LASUSTECH to persist in offering
students opportunities to acquire practical experience through the radio
station, as this is essential for their development as media professionals.”
“I am genuinely impressed by what I have observed today. The
facilities are exceptional, and it is clear that LASUSTECH is committed to
equipping its students with the necessary skills to thrive in the media sector.”
Dr. Adesemoye also reiterated his department’s dedication to
delivering the highest quality education and practical experience to students,
stating, collaborations with prestigious institutions such as UNILAG are
crucial in fulfilling this objective.
