Prominent crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely recognized as Bobrisky, has disclosed that recent circumstances have prompted him to consider suicide, a notion he asserts had never occurred to him before.
Bobrisky shared this revelation while discussing the impact that negative actions from others have had on his mental well-being.
This announcement comes in the wake of a video posted by social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, on Tuesday.
In the widely circulated clip, Bobrisky purportedly confessed to bribing officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million to have money laundering charges against him dropped.
The video has generated significant reactions, thrusting Bobrisky back into the public eye.
In spite of the criticism, Bobrisky argues that the attempts by others to undermine him have exacerbated his emotional turmoil, although he refrained from directly addressing the bribery claims in his latest statements.
Additionally, the video included allegations that prominent human rights attorney Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin Falana, known as Falz, requested N10 million to facilitate a presidential pardon for Bobrisky.
Both Femi Falana and Falz have, through their lawyers, issued separate letters demanding a retraction of these claims and a public apology from VeryDarkMan within a 24-hour timeframe.
Bobrisky was released from prison on August 5, 2024, after serving a six-month sentence for misusing naira by spraying it at a social event.
On Wednesday, he labeled a widely circulated recording as "fake," asserting that he did not make any payments to the anti-corruption agency.
He further stated that he completed his entire prison sentence and stressed that he is not looking for sympathy, but rather understanding and support.
However, on Thursday, Bobrisky revealed that he has been grappling with suicidal thoughts during the ongoing bribery controversy.
“I have never in my life thought about suicide in my life but now is coming to my head seeing what human being are doing to their fellow human just in d name you want to bring them down by force or because you don’t like them,” she wrote.
“I don’t need no sympathy from anyone. People i might have need sympathy from are my late parent. But who will fight for you? Friends? HATERS YOU WON,” he wrote.
