Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is poised to earn more than twice the amount of Daniel Dubois for their IBF heavyweight clash at Wembley on Saturday, even after suffering a knockout defeat in the fifth round.

As reported by Sporty Salaries through GB News, Joshua was guaranteed £6 million simply for his participation, with potential total earnings reaching up to £25 million based on pay-per-view sales.

In contrast, Dubois, who achieved an unexpected victory by knocking out Joshua, is said to have a guaranteed purse of £3.5 million, which could increase to £10 million.

Joshua's higher earnings are largely due to the significant attention he attracted for the bout, despite the loss to his fellow countryman.

Following his fourth career defeat, Joshua has expressed his intention to keep fighting, despite suggestions for him to retire.

In a video shared on his Instagram account on Monday, he stated, “We came up short, but we have got to look at all the positives, and that’s the mindset that we have to have—a positive one, always.”

“Look at what we’ve achieved in the space of 11 years, and I want to thank every one of you that’s been riding with me. What a rollercoaster journey! But you know what the problem is, is that it’s far from over yet.”

Dubois' triumph has elevated him to the pinnacle of the heavyweight division, paving the way for potential matchups against Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk.

A rematch with Joshua is also on the table. The event is said to have attracted a record audience for a British boxing match, with Turki Alalshikh stating that over 98,128 fans were in attendance.
