Jamal Musiala netted the third fastest goal in Bundesliga
history, putting Bayern ahead just 15 seconds into the match.
A blunder by Kiel captain Lewis Holtby allowed his former
Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Kane to extend Bayern's lead to two goals
within the first seven minutes.
The situation deteriorated for the hosts as Musiala
capitalized on another defensive lapse, delivering a cross that Nicolai Remberg
inadvertently turned into his own goal. By the 13-minute mark, Bayern had
established a 3-0 advantage.
Three years after their memorable upset against Bayern in
the German Cup's second round, Kiel appeared overwhelmed.
Kane added his second goal just before halftime, and
substitute Michael Olise scored from a rebound shortly after the hour mark.
Although Armin Gigovic's header provided a moment of joy for
the home supporters, Bayern sealed the match with Kane converting a penalty in
injury time for his hat-trick, ensuring a resounding victory.
Bayern now sits two points clear at the top of the
Bundesliga, while Vincent Kompany’s squad shifts focus to their Champions
League opener against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
Leverkusen rebounds
Defending champions Bayer Leverkusen bounced back from their
first defeat in 35 Bundesliga matches with a decisive 4-1 win over Hoffenheim,
featuring a brace from Victor Boniface.
This victory serves as a confidence booster for Xavi
Alonso’s team as they prepare for their Champions League debut next Tuesday in
Rotterdam against Feyenoord.
French forward Martin Terrier opened the scoring for the
visitors, but Boniface skillfully maneuvered past defenders to net a second
goal, with Mergim Berisha later pulling one back for Hoffenheim.
"The dance originated from a TikTok trend in Nigeria,
where the creator challenged me to perform it after scoring," Boniface
shared, detailing his goal celebration.
However, Leverkusen eventually found a breakthrough. Florian
Wirtz successfully converted a penalty, followed by Boniface scoring a
well-executed second goal.
Hoffenheim's goalkeeper, Oliver Baumann, who made his 464th
Bundesliga appearance to match the record of German football icon Lothar
Matthäus, delivered several crucial saves to keep his team competitive.
"A good team may lose once, but they won't lose two,
three, or four times consecutively," Granit Xhaka remarked afterward.
Leipzig, despite their dominance, were held to a 0-0 draw against Union Berlin, settling for just one point. Both teams were without their head coaches, Marco Rose, who was suspended, and Bo Svensson, who was ill.
Xavi Simons struck the crossbar, while Union's goalkeeper
Frederik Ronnow thwarted a penalty from Lois Openda and a free kick from David
Raum, preventing the hosts from maintaining their perfect season start.
In other matches, Frankfurt triumphed over Wolfsburg 2-1,
with Omar Marmoush scoring against his former club in both halves.
Stuttgart finally secured their first win of the season,
defeating Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1, highlighted by two goals from Ermedin
Demirovic within four minutes in the second half.
Deniz Undav had initially put Stuttgart ahead, but Alassane
Plea equalized for the home side. Junior Adamu's two goals led Freiburg to a
2-1 victory over Bochum, who had scored their first goal of the season.
