Nollywood actor and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji, along with his wife Mo Bimpe, recently visited Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun as part of the preparations for the premiere of Adedimeji’s new film, Lisabi.

The governor took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to express his pleasure in welcoming the couple, calling the visit a privilege.

He commended the actor for his dedication to highlighting Ogun State’s vibrant cultural heritage through the film, which tells the story of the legendary Egbaland warrior, Lisabi.

“We were honoured to host actor and filmmaker @TheDimejiLateef, alongside his wife, @Mobimpeoyebade, as he prepares for the premiere of his historical movie Lisabi in Ogun State. The film celebrates the legacy of Lisabi, a legendary Egbaland warrior. We extend our full support and wish him continued success as a proud ambassador of Ogun State,” Governor Abiodun wrote.

Lateef Adedimeji utilized social media to share images and videos from his visit, conveying his appreciation for the warm welcome he received.

He expressed that returning to his home state was a wonderful experience and was delighted by the robust support the project was garnering from the Ogun State Government.

“I am deeply humbled to have been warmly received by the number one citizen of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun @dapoabiodunmfr. My wife @mo_bimpe and I felt truly welcome, and it’s so great to be home,” Adedimeji shared on his Instagram and X pages.

He added, “We are thrilled to see Lisabi receiving such strong acceptance and support from the State Government.”

Adedimeji commended Governor Abiodun for his dedication to empowering the youth and fostering innovation, emphasizing the significance of initiatives such as the Lisabi project in nurturing the talents and skills of the citizens of Ogun State.

He also revealed that the film is set to premiere shortly and will be accessible for streaming on Netflix.
