This information was shared by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services
Ltd, the terminal's managing entity, during a statement made in Lagos.
Mr. Remi Jibodu, who serves as the Head of Aeronautics and
Cargo Services and Acting Chief Operating Officer, provided insights in an
interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He noted that passenger numbers tend to rise during festive
seasons. "On a daily basis, we see around 10,000 passengers arriving and
departing.
Many airlines are preparing to increase their capacity in
anticipation of higher demand. We adapt to seasonal fluctuations in traffic at
this airport," Jibodu remarked.
He also mentioned that more than 2,000 individuals, not
including passengers, frequent the terminal daily for work or business
activities.
Jibodu emphasized the importance of implementing robust
security and safety measures due to the growing number of people and
enterprises at the terminal.
He highlighted that Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd has
been utilizing technology to ensure smooth operations despite the significant
foot traffic.
Furthermore, Mrs. Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, the Head of Corporate
Communications for the organization, announced plans to introduce a streamlined
payment system for terminal users.
This new QR Code payment method, developed in collaboration
with Interswitch, aims to reduce wait times at cash points.
"Typically, upon arrival, you collect a ticket, and
when departing, you must pay at a cash point. To eliminate this wait, you will
soon be able to pay via your phone by scanning the QR code," she
explained.
Mr. Kola Bamigboye, responsible for Space and Premises,
added that approximately 110 businesses occupy 220 spaces within the terminal.
