The Naira experienced a gain of N126.64 against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market over a 48-hour period. Data from FMDQ indicated that the Naira rose to N1540.78 per dollar on Friday, up from N1667.42 on Wednesday.

This increase of N126.64 occurred between Thursday and Friday, relative to the Wednesday exchange rate. On a week-to-week comparison, the Naira showed a slight appreciation from the N1541.52 rate recorded last Friday in the official market.

This improvement suggests a positive response from the Naira to the Central Bank of Nigeria's interventions during the reviewed week.

The CBN had sold foreign currency to eligible Bureau De Change operators at a rate of N1590 per dollar on Wednesday. However, despite the CBN's actions regarding BDCs, the Naira fell to N1700 per dollar in the black market on Friday, compared to N1663 from the previous week.
