The Naira continued its upward trend against the Dollar at both foreign exchange markets as the week commenced.

Data from FMDQ indicated that the Naira improved to N 1580.46 per dollar on Monday, up from N 1593.32 recorded last Friday.

This marks a N12.86 gain against the dollar compared to the previous week's closing rate of N1593.32.

In the black market, the Naira also saw a decline of N15 on Monday, trading at N1655 per dollar, down from N1670.

This shift occurred alongside a decrease in foreign exchange transaction turnover, which fell to $197.37 million on Monday from $245 million the prior week.

It is worth noting that last week, the Central Bank of Nigeria conducted a sale of $20,000 to eligible Bureau De Change operators at an exchange rate of N1580.
