Nigerian artist Divine Ikubor, widely recognized as Rema, has responded to one of the most outrageous rumors circulating about him online: the accusation of being a “devil worshipper.”

During an appearance on the ‘Kids Take Over’ podcast, the Afrobeats sensation, known for his international hit “Calm Down,” was inquired about the most bizarre misinformation he has encountered regarding his persona.

“They say I worship the devil,” Rema said with a laugh. “It’s crazy. I didn’t respond because it’s not important. It’s a waste of time.”

The artist, recognized for integrating cultural motifs into his work, explained that the imagery some have misunderstood originates from his Edo background and is not connected to any satanic themes.

Rema also disclosed his collaboration with Canadian music superstar Drake in 2020, which produced a track called Mention Me that was regrettably leaked prior to its official launch.

“I’m happy to work with a legend like Drake,” Rema said. “I feel like we are going to make a very huge song if we take our time to build something strong.”
