The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) is preparing to host its 3rd Tourism Leadership Conference from September 18 to 20, 2024, at the Sun City Resort. The conference, themed "Why Tourism Matters," aims to underscore the vital importance of tourism in South Africa's economic landscape.

With a goal of attracting 15.6 million visitors by 2030, the event will serve as a forum for addressing critical topics such as visa regulations, tourism safety, public-private collaborations, and effective marketing strategies.

Leaders from various sectors within the industry will gather to share and develop innovative concepts. Keynote speakers will include Glenton de Kock from SAACI, Otto de Vries from ASATA, and Graham Wood from Sun International.

A significant feature of the conference will be the unveiling of the Trevor Noah Tourism Campaign, initiated by TBCSA to enhance South Africa's visibility in the global tourism market.

Additionally, the conference will tackle the issue of unemployment through tourism initiatives and will include a discussion with the Minister of Home Affairs regarding visa waivers and the implementation of e-visas.

This event is expected to foster meaningful discussions and actionable strategies, reinforcing tourism as a catalyst for economic recovery and job creation in a post-pandemic South Africa.
