The acclaimed "Boy Director" recently disclosed that he experienced a failed kidney transplant after receiving a kidney donation from his only brother.
TG Omori has been fighting kidney disease and underwent the transplant procedure on August 26 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos. On August 30, he conveyed his resolve to overcome his health issues and shared that he is on the path to recovery.
In a series of tweets on Monday via X, Omori shared a photo of himself and highlighted the significance of maintaining a positive mindset, even when facing health challenges.
“It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s only a matter of time before the body falls,” he wrote.
In another tweet, he stated, “Pain has no power over me”.
He also assured his supporters that he would return in 2025, stating, “I’ll be back in 2025.
Stay in love!” His time away from the public eye has raised significant concern among his fans. In April, TG Omori revealed his decision to quit smoking.
He made this announcement on his online platform, saying, “Quit smoking today.”
By joining other Nigerian celebrities like Kizz Daniel, Tonto Dikeh, and Charly Boy, who have also committed to quitting smoking, Omori is determined to uphold his resolution.
Last month, the acclaimed music director posted on his X account, “If I cross your mind, sometimes say a prayer for me. Poor marijuana, they blame you for all my rasclaat. You wanna eat, I wanna live.”
Last year, Mr. TG Omori disclosed that counterfeit beverages resulted in his hospitalization for a significant portion of the year.
”It’s all fun n jokes but fake drinks left me hospitalized for the most part of this year,” he tweeted.
Numerous celebrities, such as Timaya and BNXN, have publicly criticized clubs in Lagos for offering counterfeit beverages.
Omori, originally from Cross River State, spent his formative years in the Agungi neighborhood of Lagos. He embarked on his professional journey at the age of 20 after completing his studies at the PEFTI Film Institute.
