Controversial media figure and cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has once again refuted allegations of making defamatory remarks about senior lawyer Femi Falana and his son, Falz.

Last month, self-proclaimed activist VeryDarkMan released an alleged audio recording in which Bobrisky purportedly stated that Falana and Falz reached out to her during her six-month imprisonment for naira abuse.

In the audio, Bobrisky claimed that the father-son duo attempted to secure her a presidential pardon in exchange for N10 million.

Bobrisky later dismissed the recording as “fake” and threatened legal action against VeryDarkMan for defamation.

On Wednesday, Falana and Falz issued a demand for a public apology and a retraction of the alleged defamatory statements within a 12-hour timeframe.

In response, Bobrisky took to Instagram, asserting that only VeryDarkMan should be held accountable for disseminating defamatory material.

She emphasized that her right to free communication is being infringed upon and mentioned that her legal team is preparing a comprehensive response.

“I Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky did not publish any defamatory statement or statements concerning the learned SAN and his Son Falz and it is in public domain pursuant to my solicitor’s letter dated the 27th day of September 2024 that I have denied any knowledge of what VDM published,” she wrote.

“I stand by my express denial and put the matter to strict proof and advise that whoever has been defamed should hold the publisher of the defamatory content and my fundamental rights to privacy of my communications should be respected and protected.”

The social media influencer and socialite was released from incarceration on August 5, 2024, after serving six months for the offense of naira abuse during a party.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully obtained a conviction against Bobrisky on April 5, with charges consisting of four counts related to the misuse of the naira.

Upon his release, Bobrisky encouraged Nigerians to adhere to regulations and respect the law.
