The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2024-Second Series will be conducted from Friday, October 25 to Friday, December 20, 2024.

In a statement released on Tuesday, WAEC stated that the examination will employ a hybrid mode of delivery. Objective or multiple-choice questions will be presented on-screen, and candidates will provide their responses directly on the screen. Essay and practical questions will also be rendered on-screen, but candidates will use the provided answer booklets to provide their responses.

Additionally, the examination diet offers an option for candidates who prefer to use the Paper and Pen mode for the entire examination.

The registration period for the examination has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

The announcement also indicated that the "Walk-in-Candidate" option, available for those who register 24 hours prior to their chosen examination, will be accessible at the conclusion of the registration period. The complete examination timetable can be downloaded from the WAEC Nigeria website.

Furthermore, it emphasized that both prospective and registered candidates should utilize the various educational resources offered by the Council.

"All prospective and registered candidates are encouraged to take advantage of the extensive learning materials provided by the Council. This includes enrolling in the WAEC e-Study platform, purchasing the WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and engaging with fellow candidates on the WAECKonnect platform.

"WAEC extends its best wishes for success to all candidates participating in the examination. The Council remains committed to fulfilling its mandate by implementing technological advancements to enhance accessibility for all stakeholders," the statement noted.
