In a recent newsletter, she revealed that her love for music began without an understanding of how to transform it into a sustainable career.
Eva Alordiah acknowledged that she endured several years of financial challenges as a consequence.
“I was barely able to stay afloat. Being an independent female rapper in Nigeria was hard,” she wrote.
“Being a star is one thing, but being a broke star is a whole different level of struggle to take on.
“I was living from check to check, barely able to afford rent.
Alordiah remarked that, at the time, rap was not regarded as a commercially viable genre. She noted that being a woman in the industry posed additional challenges to her success.
She explained that she often performed at shows for minimal compensation, which primarily went towards covering studio expenses, promotional activities, and her personal needs.
The rapper shared that she made the difficult choice to step away from music to concentrate on enhancing her financial circumstances.She attributed her newfound perspective on money to the book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad,’ which she first encountered at the age of 16.
This shift in focus ultimately led her to co-found a software company aimed at helping individuals monetize their expertise online.
“I transitioned from aspiring to earn money online to becoming a co-owner of a software company that assists others in generating income online,” she stated.
In 2022, Alordiah revealed that she relinquished her ambition of becoming the “greatest female rapper in Africa” following a period of profound depression.
