Former British heavyweight champion David Price has expressed his support for the anticipated IBF heavyweight title rematch between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois, following boxing promoter Eddie Hearn's announcement that Saudi Arabia is likely to host the event.

Price shared his thoughts with Boxing News on Saturday night at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, where local fighter Nick Ball successfully defended his WBA featherweight title against Rios. He characterized the upcoming bout as a "win-win" situation for Joshua.

Despite the typical implications of a loss that would usually preclude a rematch, Price believes that both fighters should have the opportunity to compete again.

He said, “The rematch is the no-brainer. It’s a win-win for Joshua because you can go in and win the fight and right the wrong, or he can go in and lose again. Nothing changes. He’s still where he is. Dubois is a wrecking machine; his confidence is sky-high. If [Joshua] loses to him again, it’s not the end. He can still fight Wilder, [Zhilei], ‘Big Bang’ [Zhang], or even Fury. There’s still options. It’s a no-brainer. What else is he going to do?”

Last month, Joshua's attempt to secure a third world championship and reclaim his position among the elite in the division concluded in a dramatic and unforeseen manner.

During the match at Wembley Stadium, which was attended by 98,000 spectators, Dubois knocked him down multiple times before delivering a decisive right hand in Round 5, leaving Joshua on the canvas and marking his fourth professional defeat.

This loss reverberated throughout the boxing community, prompting some analysts to speculate about Joshua's future in the sport.

In response to discussions regarding his career trajectory, Joshua affirmed his commitment to continue boxing, while his promoter announced that the rematch will take place in the Middle Eastern kingdom as part of the Riyadh Season, a festival featuring a variety of entertainment and sports events from October to early March.
