In an interview with media figure Hero Daniels, Kellyrae disclosed that after announcing his N55 million gift to Kassia from his N60 million prize, he has been flooded with demands from acquaintances looking for a portion of his winnings.
“I was receiving calls from people close to us after I said I gave Kassia N55 million, and they were asking for their own share of my prize money,” he lamented.
Kellyrae emphasized in his appeal for empathy that his financial situation is not as stable as many may believe.
“I would like to say to everyone, I’m not a rich man yet, please. The money is big, but things are expensive. Even if it’s egg I want to buy, how many crates of eggs will I buy? Please allow a brother to settle.”
Kellyrae, who received a new car worth N40 million, encouraged his supporters to allow him the time needed to handle his finances wisely.
In August 2024, KellyRae was revealed as a participant in the Big Brother Naija Season 9 Reality Show, joined by his wife, Kassie Sule, as part of the Double Kay couple.
They plan to maintain the confidentiality of their marriage and portray themselves as "best friends" to improve their odds of winning the N100 million prize, which he ultimately secured.
KellyRae launched his music career in Warri, initially performing at local events before reaching larger audiences.
He has released a 7-track EP titled Success, which includes collaborations with prominent artists such as Graham D and Erigga. His music is known for its powerful lyrics and soothing melodies.
