MTN Nigeria, a leading telecommunications provider, has inaugurated its first 5G Experience Centre in Abuja on Wednesday, October 16th. This launch represents a pivotal moment in the company's ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity throughout Nigeria. The advanced facility is intended to demonstrate the capabilities of 5G technology, enabling customers, businesses, and innovators to fully explore its possibilities.

The event was attended by key industry figures, including representatives from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and notable tech personalities such as Fisayo Fosudo and Izzi Boye. This gathering underscored MTN’s dedication to providing top-tier telecommunications services that improve the lives of its users.

The 5G Experience Centre offers visitors the chance to engage with state-of-the-art technology, featuring applications in virtual reality, augmented reality, and ultra-high-definition streaming, along with a digital customer service point.

During the launch, Chief Customer Relations Officer Ugonwa Nwoye stated, “We are excited to introduce the MTN 5G Experience Centre, a center for innovation that reflects our commitment to bringing cutting-edge technology closer to our customers.” She added, “At MTN, our focus extends beyond merely selling data; we aim to empower our customers with the technological tools necessary to achieve their fullest potential.”

Furthermore, she emphasized, “Our pride lies in our ability to deliver the best to our customers, from being the first to launch 5G in West Africa to providing faster internet speeds. Our connectivity has the potential to transform various sectors, including healthcare, education, and agriculture. We are confident that this centre will foster creativity and promote the adoption of digital solutions nationwide.”

Engineer Joseph Emeshili, Head of Spectrum Planning at the Nigerian Communications Commission, representing Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Aminu Maida, praised MTN for its recent launch.
