Nigerian-born Samson Dauda has achieved the esteemed title of Mr. Olympia 2024, marking a historic moment by winning the largest prize ever in bodybuilding history. The competition was held at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, concluding the 2024 Olympia weekend.

Fifteen top competitors advanced from the pre-judging round and competed fiercely on the main stage for the coveted title. Dauda, who is currently based in the United Kingdom, claimed victory, with Hadi Choopan finishing in second place and the 2023 champion Derek Lunsford dropping to third.

In addition to the championship title, Dauda was honored as the People’s Champion, receiving an unprecedented prize of $600,000, the highest amount ever awarded in a bodybuilding event.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, a legendary figure in the sport, previously dominated the Mr. Olympia competition, winning six consecutive titles from 1970 to 1975 before making a successful transition to a Hollywood career. He returned to the stage in 1980 to secure his seventh and final title, solidifying his legacy in bodybuilding.
