During the inauguration of the Research Management Committee at the UBEC Digital Resource Centre in Abuja on Tuesday, Executive Secretary Dr. Hamid Bobboyi articulated this commitment.
Dr. Bobboyi highlighted that the Commission's research initiatives will be closely aligned with the national objective of developing a technology-oriented education system.
"Our aim is to ensure that all research projects endorsed by UBEC will play a crucial role in creating a smart educational framework that improves learning outcomes for our students," he stated.
At the event, Prof. Bashir Galadanci, the National Coordinator of the UBEC Digital Resource Centre, underscored the significance of collaboration among committee members.
He encouraged them to unite their efforts to facilitate the effective implementation of smart education initiatives nationwide.
Prof. John Gbenga Adewale, the Chairman of the newly formed 20-member committee, pledged that the members would commit themselves to assisting the Commission in reaching its goals.
"We are dedicated to working tirelessly to support UBEC’s vision of integrating smart education into Nigeria’s educational landscape," he affirmed.
The committee comprises distinguished members, including Dr. Peter Adeseeni Matemilola, Dr. Nseabasi Essien, Dr. Emmanuel Chukwunweike Nwangwu, Dr. Adetunmbi Laolu Akinyemi, Prof. Comfort Ekpo, Dr. Fatimah Jibril Abduldayan, Dr. Daniel Aideyan Osarenmwata, Dr. Ibeabuchi Glory, Prof. Ibrahim Lawal Yazid, and Dr. Faruk Ambursa, among others.
According to Arewa PUNCH, UBEC has been actively engaged in a digital transformation initiative over the past few years, resulting in the establishment of model smart schools across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The initiative aligns with UBEC's comprehensive strategy to enhance Nigeria's basic education system by integrating smart technology.
