First Bank has made a strong return to the Final 8 after missing out in the previous edition, showcasing impressive form throughout the tournament by winning all their Group B matches and securing the top position. They will face Customs, who, after a defeat to the defending champions, MFM of Lagos, finished in second place.
In the day's first semifinal, defending champions MFM will compete against the unexpected contenders of the 2024 league, Royal Aces, who aim to pull off an upset against the Olukoya team.
The victors of these two semifinals will meet on Tuesday for the prestigious title, while the defeated teams will compete in the third-place match on the same day.Additionally, Zenith Bank Plc, the league's sponsors, have reiterated their commitment to supporting women's basketball as they anticipate the final four. Adaora Umeoji, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive of the organization, expressed that the investment has proven worthwhile, highlighting the impressive performances of the teams in this year's event, which demonstrate the enduring presence of women's basketball.
“We are further encouraged by the performances of D’Tigress at the recent Olympic Games in France, where one of our league's recent talents, Murjanatu Musa, represented Nigeria,” Umeoji stated.
