Oil marketers reported yesterday that the price of petrol from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery was between N1,015 and N1,028 per litre, suggesting that importing the product from the international market would be more economical, given that the landing cost was N978.01 per litre as of October 31, 2024.
In response, Tony Chiejina, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of Dangote Group, characterized the allegations as 'fake news.'
Data released by the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria on Thursday indicated that the landing cost for diesel was N1,069.97 per litre, while aviation fuel was priced at N1,119.67 per litre.
An anonymous major marketer stated that the refinery currently sells to bulk purchasers at N1,015 per litre, while smaller buyers are charged N1,028 per litre.
He noted, “Dangote is selling to bulk buyers at N1,015 per litre, but for marketers not purchasing in bulk, the price is N1,028 per litre.”
