Since Anthony Joshua experienced a significant knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, there has been considerable speculation regarding his next opponent. However, his promoter, Eddie Hearn, has now outlined important details regarding Joshua's upcoming fight.

Immediately following the bout, Hearn indicated that Joshua, as he has done previously, would likely seek an immediate rematch. Unfortunately for Joshua, he sustained an injury, preventing the rematch from occurring right away.

Despite having an impressive career, Joshua is now 35 years old, and the window for him to capture a world championship for a third time is narrowing.

The potential fight with Tyson Fury remains a topic of discussion, but it is not guaranteed. With the rematch between the towering Brit and Oleksandr Usyk scheduled for December 21st, there is a possibility of a trilogy fight, which Fury has expressed interest in.

Tony Bellew, a well-known supporter of Joshua, has advocated for another rematch between Joshua and Dillian Whyte. However, in a conversation with Ariel Helwani and Ade Oladipo on DAZN, Hearn has clarified the plans for Joshua's next fight.

“It could be the Dubois rematch, but it won’t take place on February 22nd. We need to see how the Usyk-Fury II fight unfolds on December 21st before making any decisions.”

Hearn anticipates that Joshua will return to the ring in May or June.

He has confirmed that Joshua will await the outcome of the Usyk-Fury rematch, with a likely return to the ring in May or June 2025. While the Dubois rematch remains a possibility, it will not be Dubois' next fight.

Thus, regardless of the outcome, it appears Joshua may be poised for a bout with Fury. Although this matchup may not hold the same significance as it would have a few years ago, it remains a highly anticipated British heavyweight clash that could be historic if it ultimately occurs.
