James Ojo Allen's dedication, resilience, and eagerness to learn have culminated in remarkable success as he has been honored with the title of best graduating student at the University of Benin during the combined 49th and 50th Convocation Ceremony held on November 22, 2024. A graduate in Petroleum Engineering, Allen achieved an outstanding CGPA of 4.98/5.0, with reports suggesting that this may be the highest CGPA recorded by any graduate since the university's founding in 1970.

Receiving the Bedrock Scholarship in 2022 significantly contributed to Allen's academic journey, providing both financial support and mentorship. Beyond his academic accomplishments, he distinguished himself as a leader and innovator within the university community. 

His roles included Programs Team Lead for the Energy Club, President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Uniben student chapter, President of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, and Founder of the Goal Getters Forum.

The Bedrock Human Development Foundation (BHDF) has been instrumental in supporting numerous students since its inception and takes great pride in Allen's achievements. Engr (Dr) Osa Owieadolor, the Chairman and Founder of the Bedrock Foundation, remarked.

She emphasized that their mission is to empower young leaders to reach their full potential and make a meaningful difference in the world. Additionally, BHDF takes great pride in the fact that for the second consecutive year, Bedrock Scholars have been acknowledged as the top graduates at the University of Benin. This year, they celebrated the graduation of twenty-four scholars, with ten earning first-class honors and fourteen achieving second-class upper.

In recognition of his achievement, the foundation awarded Allen a sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira.
