Afrobeats artist Tiwa Savage has stated that the prevalence of poverty in Nigeria is a key factor driving the high number of entertainers emerging from the country.

She noted that the difficult living conditions prompt young individuals to tap into their creative abilities.

During her appearance on the ‘Shopping The Sneakers’ podcast, Savage expressed that life in Nigeria poses significant challenges.

She remarked, “When you come to Nigeria, you will understand why we breed so many superstars. To survive in Nigeria is something else so that’s why the artists that come out of Nigeria are just like hustlers. They are just hustling.”

Nigeria boasts the largest entertainment sectors in Africa, encompassing film, music, comedy, and fashion.

Nollywood ranks as the second largest film industry globally.
