She emphasized that women in aviation will persist in their efforts related to screening, intelligence gathering, and other safety initiatives in the industry. "We are dedicated to ensuring safety and security in aviation, and we will continue our efforts in this regard," she stated.
Mrs. Ndudinachi highlighted the significant presence and impact of women across various segments of Nigeria's aviation industry, including engineering, management, aero-medical fields, media, regulation, training, meteorology, security, and piloting. She noted that since the establishment of WIA, the commitment and dedication of women in aviation have notably increased, contributing to the industry's many achievements.
The president also mentioned that members would continue to enhance their knowledge by participating in international WIA conferences regularly, encouraging collaboration and support among them. "Today, we come together once more as a community of pioneers, advocates, and change-makers in aviation," she remarked.
WIA-N aims to promote the advancement of women across all aviation career fields and interests. The organization seeks to raise public awareness of women's contributions and achievements in aviation development. Additionally, its goals include fostering aviation education, promoting public understanding of women's accomplishments in the field, and inspiring young individuals to pursue careers in aviation.
She stated that WIA-N has successfully established and launched approximately 17 Aviation Clubs within schools, aimed at creating a platform for networking resources and opportunities for women.
"In alignment with our goals, we have initiated public awareness programs, WIA scholarships, career discussions, and various activities designed to encourage young individuals to pursue careers in aviation.
"For instance, during the September 2024 International Girls in Aviation Day raffle draw, Nigeria achieved first and second place, showcasing the remarkable talent of our girls.
"This year, we hosted 'Girls in Aviation Day' at nearly all airports across Nigeria, with the invaluable support of aviation agencies and the inspiring role models present here," she remarked.
She mentioned that the organization presented significant gifts to exceptional children to motivate them to consider careers in aviation.
She emphasized that the theme, “Connect, Engage, Inspire,” truly reflects the core mission and vision of the organization and the journey it has undertaken.
"As women in aviation, we possess a distinct opportunity and obligation to inspire. We uplift one another by sharing narratives of resilience, creativity, and leadership.
