He made this assertion while expressing his plans to revive the group in 2024.
In a recent interview with media personality Daddy Freeze during an Instagram live session, Blackface elaborated on how he co-founded Plantashun Boiz with 2Baba and subsequently brought Faze into the ensemble.
He also shared the story behind the creation of the group's name.
“I’m the head of Plantashun Boiz, not 2Baba. I Brought 2Baba To Plantashun Boiz,” he said.
Plantashun Boiz was a prominent Nigerian hip-hop and R&B group consisting of members 2face Idibia, Faze, and Blackface.
The formation of the group took place during their college years at the Institute of Management and Technology (I.M.T) in Enugu, located in Eastern Nigeria.
After relocating to Lagos, the group achieved significant popularity, particularly with the addition of Faze, which strengthened their dynamic. A pivotal moment for the group occurred when they crossed paths with Tony Tetuila, a former member of The Remedies, which led to increased visibility and the release of their debut album as Plantashun Boiz in 2000.
However, the group disbanded following 2face's decision to pursue a solo career under Kennis Music, a move that was met with discontent from the other members. Despite this, each member went on to release successful solo albums, starting with 2face, followed by Blackface and then Faze. Their individual successes kept fans eager for more, with many hoping for a future reunion.
