Internationally acclaimed DJ and producer MoBlack has teamed up with South Africa’s iconic UCT Choir to unveil ‘Corona Sunsets Sessions x MoBlack’, a breathtaking music video that captures the essence of Cape Town’s natural beauty and its awe-inspiring sunsets. This collaboration not only celebrates the magical connection between music, culture, and nature but also serves as a global stage for the UCT Choir’s unique sound, allowing them to share their voices with the world.

At the heart of the collaboration is a reimagined rendition of ‘Yamore’, MoBlack’s renowned track co-created with Malian music legend Salif Keita. The project is a vibrant celebration of global artistry and African cultural pride, blending powerful vocals from the UCT Choir with MoBlack’s signature Afro House beats.

The collaboration was inspired by the magic of sunsets and follows both MoBlack and the UCT Choir’s participation in the recent Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour in Cape Town, a global festival that celebrates the fusion of music, art, and nature while embracing life’s golden moments.

Combining evocative visuals and a powerful soundtrack to spotlight South Africa’s cultural and natural treasures, the “Corona Sunsets Sessions x MoBlack” video also comes during the Corona Sunsets Summer Tour taking place nationwide during the festive season.

Born Mimmo Falcone in Naples, Italy, MoBlack is a pioneer of Afro House music, drawing inspiration from his deep connection to African rhythms and traditions. During his transformative years living in Ghana from 2012 to 2014, MoBlack immersed himself in the region’s vibrant music scene, shaping the foundation of his artistry. Today, as the founder of MoBlack Records, he bridges cultures and reshapes the electronic music landscape.

“Africa’s music is soulful, raw, and transformative,” says MoBlack. “Collaborating with the UCT Choir on ‘Yamore’ brought renewed depth to the song. Filming amidst Cape Town’s stunning natural beauty was both humbling and inspiring.”

His recent performance at the Corona Sunsets Festival World Tour in Cape Town showcased his dynamic presence, blending emotive rhythms with spiritual undertones to create an unforgettable music experience.

For the UCT Choir, this collaboration marks an incredible opportunity to share their unique voice with international audiences. Known for blending traditional African music with Western choral traditions, the UCT Choir has captivated global audiences with vibrant performances that celebrate the richness of African culture. The chance to work with an internationally recognized artist like MoBlack offers the choir a global platform to amplify their artistry on the world stage.

“Working with MoBlack on a global platform has been extraordinary,” shares Karen Schofield-Nel. “Set against Cape Town’s breathtaking landscapes, on this video our voices really resonate with the beauty and depth of African culture.”

With Table Mountain as its majestic backdrop, ‘Sunsets Sessions’ intertwines the choir’s harmonious vocals with MoBlack’s evocative Afro House beats, accompanied by a mesmerizing solo dance performance. The video captures the golden hues of sunset, merging cultural richness with Cape Town’s natural splendor.

Melanie Nicholson, Head of Brand for Corona South Africa, emphasizes the alignment of the project with the ethos of the national Corona Sunsets Summer Tour: “The Corona Sunsets Summer Tour is more than just a music event; it’s a celebration of life’s most special moments, inspired by the beauty of sunsets in extraordinary locations. ‘Sunsets Sessions’ perfectly embodies this spirit of connection, celebration, and harmony with nature.”
